I think i remember someone on here talking about a tree they took down, that was full of lead shot. Turned out it had been used as an "exacution spot" where criminals would stand and be shot.

yep got shrapnel all over the old brooklands race track.:sneaky2:

 

brooklands was owned by vickers during WWII as thats where barnes wallis had his drawing office when he designed the bouncing bomb so would have been a prime target for the luftwaffe and easy to spot with that massive banked track.
