What is on my 'Nuts?

Found this on a mature horse chestnut. Does anyone have any ideas? :confused1:There appears to be good bud coverage. The ooze is sticky and not solid. It is in a streak about a foot to 2 foot (ish) long and as far as I can see, just in one area on the trunk.

it doesnt look like any bleeding canker i have seen(not saying it isnt) it is usually orangey like the inside of a jaffa cake, yours looks like the bottom of my jet boil after my hot chocolate:biggrin:

Bleedin' canker or wetwood. Bacterial wetwood tends to smell.
