my mate supplies B&Q with bags of wet larch. he sells thousands of bags a year, believe me the producer gets very little for the bags think its just over £1 a bag.

50% veg oil 50% diesel equates to about 80p per litre overall . thats why i can afford to run the hilux!

do you pour the oil striaght in? ive thought about it but never done it.

yes bill i just put the diesel in first (25litres normally)

then nip next door to Lidl for my 25litres of veg oil 49p per litre and it just goes straight in the tank to be mixed with the diesel. start her up and away you go. the veg oil and diesel will mix nicely as you trundle up the road.

you cant just run veg oil 100% it's viscosity is too thick to go through the pump and injectors and clogs them up, hence lowering it's viscosity by mixing it with diesel. you cant do it on the newer common rail hilux diesels as they have very fine injectors it clogs up straight away. seems to run better too. but you must change the fuel filter every 5000miles and lower the mix in winter (eg70% diesel - 30% veg) works for me anyway.

down here 5 or so years ago, netted logs were supplied to garages etc for £1.65+vat, I think Big K fuels were knocking them out a lot cheaper than that! £2.50-£3 a net at the door around here now.

Yep. Just interested as to how you propose to increase land area for the production of biomass with a cull...

I think he was suggesting lowering the demand for bio-fuel,then we would have enough land :icon14:
