MS200 or 339XP

Ive used an MS200 for small jobs, behind the chipper etc, it's had a few problems, was thinking of getting one for myself, i know they don't sell it anymore thats why im thinking about the 339XP, anyone had any experience with this saw?

A rear handle 200 would be a posh chipper saw IMO!

 

Are you saying there is a rear handled 339? Not heard if it myself.

 

What about something like a 290? I know its a semi pro, but 56cc and a little ove £400, cant go wrong can you?

I would go for something Like 18stoner said, or even an MS240 even if its just to sit by the chipper idling most of the time. Like he said the likes of the (former) rear handled 200 seems a bit OTT for that job...

My current fleet, 200T, 260 and 361. I think the 361 has got to go, rarely use it, if im honest ive never got on with it, probably why im wanting to go to the darkside, Ive had the 260 from the start, second hand saw, never selling that. The work load at the moment tends to be smaller trees, just fancy a small nippy saw thats all.

the back handle ms200 is a good saw, its the most used saw at work and takes some battering both on the ground and in the tree. But if your looking for a small saw suitable for sitting near a chipper, and doing the odd bit of other work, id reccomend the ms180, for the price, you cant knock it.

keep the 361 and sell the 260! I would just get a 15inch bar anf 20inch bar for the 361, and swap them as you need them.

No way dude, that 260 is the bees knees, i wish id never bought that 361. I remember a job one day, out in the fens, had a few local folk watching, i left the saws in the van so they wouldnt go missing, anyway a limb was dropped, needed a saw quick to sned up and clear the footpath, i reach for the 361, knowing its sharp, it was like saturday night fever trying to start it, what a pile of crap, i slung it in the end, went for the 260, one pull choked, one to start and i was away.

260 will live by a chipper all day no worries, seems to me you've already got a decent saw range mate, I wouldnt go any smaller then a 260 myself, Bang a 13 inch bar on it, They cut real well with a 13 on
