We've been using a grcs now for a few years and the guy lowering is very good I hardly feel it. We'd usually go bigger but this tree had quite a lean and the previous inspection claimed it was on the move. I dont't think it was though.

Good job there, but what does GRCS stand for, is it some kind of rope brake device, am i gonna kick myself when i find out?

 

I thought CODIT was common knowledge, apparently not Tis worthwhile reading up on it, as said before, Shigo is your man. (dryadude)
