get yourself a pole pruner and a 360degree head for it, you could of done all that hedge from the ground in a couple of hours. or stick the step ladder on the trailer and tie it down, i am not even considering your post about being skint, just recomending what to buy. ha ha

leylandii reduction and trim, took longer than anticipated and nearly called for a mewp as stepladder was a bit short, couple of local residents stopped to say they thought we had done a good job, all i can see is the flicky bits that i should go back up for.. very boring, got another to do tomorrow as well..

I have the Stihl long reach cutters with the adjustable head, but I now only use them very occasionally for the little bits at the end of the job, because I find the vibration levels on them are terrible and prefer to use my HS85's from steps.

341 did a bit of the hornbeam and the 460 was long enough to cut the top 1ft off the leylandii liam, why do you ask? then trimmed my knuckle with the silky haha

 

Just looks really neat, Doesnt look like chainsaw work.
