Was donated a perfect condition hedge trimmer this afternoon which wont start.  Its 25yrs old, just doing 5hrs a year with it for myself.  Always was a good starter until yesterday, when it wont fire up.

Test as follows

Fuel Good

Spark Good

Exhaust Removal - Piston is scored............now i  know why it wont start, It has come compression I guess as it pulls a good bit stiffer with spark plug in than out.  It gave a roar once for 2 seconds while i was attempting to start it.

Its in perfect condition, thus I think its worth an engine rebuild.

Where would I source a kit for it

Shindawa LE230 engine, a 22.5cc.
