Hi, I’m Looking for an ID on these.

 

both located on beech trees.

 

I'm was thinking Kretzschmaria, however I am unsure due to the texture being quite porous and  it is pretty tough not brittle. I have also found the same black lumps lying in the woodland away from any trees and not connected to anything.
