Just bought a Unimog 404 that needs tyres. We have looked at the military ones here but wondered if they would be any use on the mog?

I assume they are truck tyres and would run at much higher pressures?

Struggling really as its a toy not working vehicle so many justify spending a fortune

Withams will bleed you dry, they haven’t even paid the MOD yet for what ex mod stuff they’re selling and still want top $ or £ in this case.

Thanks Spoke to my local tyre place and the 10 year rule won't apply as its not a truck it weighs 2.9T and is not a HGV

Correct me If I am wrong please.

You say toy but what will it be used for, if off road would go for Agri type of tyre.

Thanks Just the local Pub meet and car meets at 10MPG I can see us going far. It currently has the tractor type Agri tyres but they are badly cut and worn but cant find any cheap, most people fit military type tyres that we have seen as its the cheapest option?

Do you know of any other options? We are struggling to find used tyre suppliers

Hi  Winchman, it would help if we knew which model of Unimog you have as there are so many variables. A U1300 wouldn't look out of place on the Goodyear's but it's off road capability would be severely compromised and you could get stuck on a wet show field! Also do you have the correct rims for those tyres (A lot of military vehicles have split/3 piece rims)

Agricultural tyres are another option but ideally you'll need ones that are speed rated
