Hi

Would anyone know if there are rules about carving using a chainsaw at home commercially ?

I do them  on the drive and in the garage upto now but have concerns that when i go full time i will fall under health and safety rules.

I close the gates so no one can come in , but the pathway is still around 10ft from where i carve .

Any advice would be appreciated

thanks

Are you going to sue yourself if you get injured? If so, then yes, there are rules.

Lock the gate, when you are working.

Put "Do not enter" on the gate, when you are working.

Best of luck 👍

Bit of a daft question to be honest. If you are working from home its private land and no  commercial aspect to it only the payment side. Use common sense for christ sake lad.

If i am using the land to produce products to sell then it is commercial therefore commercial rules apply to what i am doing.

It's a grey area, you can argue both sides of the argument.

Realistically, providing your not taking the Mick at all hours of the day and maybe using an electric saw you will probably stay under the radar.
