Lifting logs onto a horse is a huge waste of effort, bend your legs and cut to the ground, but not in the dirt! Stack onto other logs if you want to keep the saw off the ground.

The timber croc style devices work great for long bits, I've used them at customer's houses before while processing and get on well with them. A good bit safer than holding it in place with a foot.

That what I was thinking of doing but I’m not sure I’ll be processing logs big enough to keep if off the ground.

I have seen these, they don’t look stable at all 😂

Chuck the log to be cut ontop of those already cut.

And prepare for the inevitable flying small kickback log in the shins or the knackers. After the first ten hits the pain goes away....then the anger begins

I've used a workmate style bench single handed by having a chain loop around it all that I held in place with my foot, a bit slow but suitable at the time.

I now have a dwarf wall in the garden and a halved pallet, the limbs sit nicely for the most part and if its a long limb the boss feeds it horizontally until I can manage myself

Posted a pic of this before, made from and old sleeper and some old fence stabs.

Only use it when I have loads of limbs like that to cut, usually cut the limb with it sitting on top of other chopped logs.IMG_0380.thumb.jpg.a1b79849597a41c6736ace294344c423.jpg
