I use one of these for self lowering, rated up to 500kg but tested at 800kg, friction easily adjustable or it can be locked off

Now that looks a bit more useful. 500kg is a big piece. Do you often do that much from up top?

Have you tried a crash gybe preventer to compare it to?

I didn't want to shoehorn into this thread with a me me me post but it's absolutely relevant so I will. I'm building a rigging device. It's the best thing in this thread by a long way and the best new thing for tree work since the GRCS and the rope wrench. I suggest everyone puts £100 a month in a piggy bank and waits for my signal. If it's shit, you'll have some money for something else. But it won't be and you'll want it.

Tell us more go onnnnnnn

I generally only use it for lighter stuff over buildings, I can control the swing and then let it run/or lock it off then lower it with a tag line attached for the groundy to control, not used the type in your image.

My mistake, 250kg not 500kg, it was tested to 800kg though, the company is based in Bordeaux.

It's that WLL or MBS?

Tie off the piece, remove slack through the ID, lock off, snip piece, lower away.

I can see orientation as a possible issue. Aside from that i suppose there's nothing to prevent you. The WLL of 250kg kept in mind.

Just consider that it doesn't take much before 100kg becomes the equivalent of over 250kg with a bit of momentum.

IMO there are better tools for the task.

Can you post a picture of what you mean please.

I can't be arsed tonight. Basically thread the rope through the beckett of the pinto and over the pulley and back down. Very similar principle to the rig n wrench.

In essence your groundy can lower stuff that would otherwise need a wrap to a wrap and a half on the bollard.
