Poisoning tree stump
We've had a mature oak tree felled leaving a stump approx 18" high.
I propose drilling holes around the cambium layer and filling with neat Glyphosate.
Can this be done now whilst dormant or should I wait til the spring?

Predictably enough, being a smelly hippy, personally I wouldn't bother. Just snip any growth with a pair of secateurs until there isn't.

It isn't knotweed you're trying to kill.

Cut it lower, and drill holes and fill with mixed glyphosate and do it now if you leave it till spring sap will be rising. And cover with plastic. 

Use glyphosate by instructions only not neat.
