Hey all, i have looked at getting a box made for my tipper, a quote from a blacksmith was 800 + vat for just a frame to be built out of mild steel. After picking myself up from his workshop floor i did some investigating. Parker steel can supply enough steel to buit a 10x7x4 foot back for £200 to make a frame. you have to weld it yourself but if you know a friend etc etc etc. You can then either board it with ply or spend another 220 and get enough alloy sheet to cover it. I am going to do this but use a super tough pvc tarp pulled tight for the top. I will let you all know how it goes.

Hey all as i set about my tipper in august i thought i had better show you how it has turned out.

First image is obviously construction and the second is a finished product. The canopy rolls all the way down the back to the drop tail and you can tip with it down too, this keeps and weather off the kit and also prying eyes!!!

The ladder rack is built in to the truck and the canopy fits around it neatly.

Im happy enough and also learnt to weld from this which is good as my aging Vermeer needs looking after!!!

Imagine the amount of crashes having her on the side would cause!!!! good tactic though, sex sells apparently!!! not sure it an image for arb!

The really big negative with that chip truck is now you have removed the drop sides when you sell it your market is tiny the arb market.

The money that may have cost wont be redeemed at all when you sell apart from that not bad.

I still have the sides etc for it but the plan is really to use it till its dead then transplant the back one day. I am trying to make some barn doors for the back but hinges for them from tipmaster etc are stupid money. Anybody ever made their own etc?
