A friend of mine was telling me that he sells loads of larch mushrooms that he carves with off cuts etc, i thought i would give it a go.

Anyone got any tips or websites i could try next time please

Here is my first attempt.

I cannot believe how many toadstools I sell in a year, who on earth keeps buying them. The week before Xmas I sold 10!! I bet somebody swore when he wanted an X-box and got a poxy toadstool:biggrin: Practise makes perfect, trim down the bark ridge a bit more, I do about 2" of bark edging. I dont faff around with them these days, just knock em up and shift em out. I'd love to have the skills to do something like the better carvers do, but i dont have that so shrooms it is.

That pic in the OP looks sort of Bolete-like with the bulge in the stem.

 

I was looking a few different styles in Hiouchi and Orick of California, a few weeks ago.

 

Your stem actually looks as good as the ones I was looking at.
