Ive got some large bits of spalted beech I was going to sell as turning blanks. Currently in large rounds some are 3ft across. Gave some to a mate for turning and have a pile left to sell. Based Haslemere on the Surrey / West Sussex border. Prob too far for you but can load this end with a machine onto trailer etc. If you want pictures of any of it let me know.

Thanks all for the ideas, I appreciate it. I had a chat with the sawmill where I buy sawn hardwood from and they suggested I might be able to use the split ends they cut off before milling (ash & sycamore). That’s a good idea and may work if I can get some clear wood out of those offcuts. Meanwhile I lucked into 4 nice ash butts at a reasonable price. I’ve picked those up pronto thank you very much and that’s enough ash for salad bowls this year. I’d still like  a few 18”+ beech stems if anyone has anything within about an hour’s drive from Hereford.
