Stihl MS 650

What is the point of this saw? Considering the 660 isnt much more in price, same weight and with more power. Just wondering if anyone knows if theres a point for this being in production.

it used to be called a 064, & was made before the 066 , i persume its stilling filling a gap & folk are still buying it

just out of interest david why did you go for the 650 and not splash out another £100 or so on the 660? because how reliable the 064 was?

The 064 burnt out and i just replaced with the same but i went for a bigger bar i got a 3 foot. I think it has been talked about before but it is a brand new saw and came with old style caps:001_smile: Are you buying one then Liam? forget that i know you like big saws so it will be the 066

I always thought the 64 was a little lighter and had a smaller bottom end.

haha nahh i ent getting one, was just looking through the new stihl catalogue and saw that there wasnt much differnce in price thats all, the next brand new saw i want is a 460

why a ms460 ?? wouldnt a young lad be better with an ms441 ?? far less vibes & more user friendly !!

Agree, like ms240, ms341 and the above - saws with same weight and less power - what's the point?!!
