your pooch looks a bit grey round the muzzle like my old fella!

dogs are great, and a very good excuse for a little wood walking.

Seriously consider the WAB forum for a definative ident on this, thats where i go when Im in doubt, but dont tell anyone on here! lol

I found her on my way to work one day and she was never claimed.. not sure how old but she's not young!

Yes they are a good excuse- although she gets distinctly fed up when she has to stand about while I take photos of random things!

I will give WAB a go, thanks. :)

Hamadryad, where is your avatar pic from? What is it?

I have no idea where it came from, just a snatch from thousands of wasted hours trawling the WWW for information!

I suspect it is an old victorian book ilustration, its cool! I love the old charcoal and lead ilustrations the victorians did, awsome artists.

I imagine Monkeyd may be able to help....

& pray tell, why would one imagine that? :001_tongue:

I have a inkling that amounts to having scratched the surface of fungal Id.

If it is as the WAB geeks suggest a Tubaria spp, then it's new to me. Agarics are a big ole bunch of Fung, & not a strong point for me.

Nice shots Katie
