Passed my CS30, failed CS31

Wierd. Danish cut is not in the CS30/31 Lantra syllabus mate. It can be demonstrated, but you only need to know split level, holding cut and straight fell for against the lean, heavy lean and upright trees for CS31. Step cut and 80% back cut can be used on less than 200 mm trees. I would get in touch with Lantra - the new 2010 hand book is available in pdf format.

I'm hoping after a few years grafting I can start drifting into forestry when/if the opportunity arises and just get on with it...

 

 

Sorry to urinate on your parade but you won't be getting into forestry with just a cs30/31 and a few years hard work.

 

You'll be needing at the very least an extended diploma in forestry/countryside management, and more realistically a foundation degree or a BSc in forestry.

 

Unless you've got someone that can pull some pretty big chains for you.

well done and sorry to hear mate, we all fail tests from time to time.. i have! makes you go back more determind and better next time!

 

i would keep practising bud!!! get those cuts perfect then when your next assessment is due you will be far more confident, good luck next time !!
