quick question about my CS30/31

Following on from a thread from early just re-reading the letter and it says I need all roudn protection. I always thought all round protection was for cs39 and onwards? Can anyone explain this to me?

All round, "Design C", is recommended for "new users"...

 

Experienced forestry workers are allowed to use "Design A", ligther protection due to experience...

 

Just done my CS30/31 today, passed the 30 but failed the 31 due to a fault with the straight fell, pretty much straight forward, you should be ok

conrats on the 30 and sorry to hear about the 31. I never new that 2 lads I no just passed both of there 30/31 and tey didnt have type cs unless the instructor lent it them althogh this was private not college like me.

 

Looks like ill have to ask the olders to borrow a pair.

All round protection is advised for climbers and occasional users. As a groundsman doing C3 30 or 31 front protection is fine and is cooler in the summer. If you are intending to do climbing tickets its worth getting all round protection.

when i went for my 30/31 i was offered the chance to rent from the training provider some all rounds, but my work didnt want to since would have cost the same almost as buying a new pair which they did. However i truly hate wearing my all rounds that work provide and cant wait for them to die off - so for on my own time i bought frontals only, so much nicer.

 

So may be worth seeing if training provider will rent you a pair for course.

which is probably going to be one of the most easily abused get-out clauses in the system. as one persons idea of hot is diff to the next person, and lets face it, some peeps dont even like wearin type c anyway.

Thats for qualified people.

 

When doing tickets your an unqualified operator under supervision, and in that case all rounds on the ground would be used. If the supervisor says all round protection then thats what you nead.
