It's mostly for people looking for new jobs, or for corporate types showing off what the company does.

Everything in between is more drum banging or useful for research.

Mostly a business tool for networking with individuals working for other companies so you can better your employment or gauge anothers background if you are meeting for the first time to sell or purchase.

Not really a platform to gain contracts from but more to see the background of someone you may be negotiating with.

I will say there has been a big push recently by these social media marketing types to make it into the next sliced bread again.

I reminded a company boss I work closely with that you're not going to get to the end user with the advertising or multiple posts a day.

Yup, my experience too, job agencies wanting to place you somewhere else, and companies with a social media department.

Like most social media you have to do the work to make contact with your friends or business contacts, and if you just contact someone else you don't know, are likely to get ignored.

It’s been a great tool for me and gained a lot of work. No other platform gives you such easy access to the right people, obviously you have to put the time in and cultivate the leads. Many companies/people use it like a social media platform (pointless imo) but if you use it as a tool to introduce you/your services to interested parties it can work. I worked out id spent approx 18hours in 3 months on the site and generated £28k of work - great return.

Where you sending the right people direct messages?

Yes however also taking the time to understand their company and drawing parallels on how I might be able to help them! I’ve always found running a company is solving or providing a solution.
