I have run a 42" GB Lo-Pro milling bar no issue.
Could go 48 or 54 maybe 60 with a skip or hyper skip.

Crosscut at 36" is about it. Pretty sure others will have a better answer

Depends on what you're planning on doing with it. Regular cutting, blocking up firewood, milling, etc.

Also depends on if it's soft, hard, wet, frozen or dry wood.

Depends on the chain pitch also, but it can handle up to 36" with regular 3/8" just fine in hard/frozen wood and milling. It will slow down of course, but it will handle it.

You won't notice much of a powerloss on 18-24".

Same as Bob above, I've run a 42 on a 660 milling, has to be perfectly sharpened though. Have a 32 for it but not used it since getting an 880. Usually use it with a 24 now, it just falls through wood. I'd say anything over 30-32 is pushing it for constant, full bore use.
