New saw choices...

I'm in the market for a new saw, the use will be felling on a 20" bar, felling cuts only predominantly as I use small saws to sned.

The 2 options I see are:

Echo 621sx- £819 Inc Vat.

Husqvarna 562xp Mk2 (or mk1?)- £819 inc Vat, this is on Radmorr tucker, doesn't specify mk1 or 2 and 18" bar not 20"?

The stihl MS462 was considered, however its more monies and I already have a 460, soon to be ported so no need for this saw to run a big bar and keen to save the money.

So I am after some input from others, which of those would you recommend or is there overs I've missed?

Does it pull the 20" bar when the whole bar is in wood OK?

Yes it does, keep the revs up and feed it in and it cuts well. It's a smaller saw, lighter, and quicker on the revs than a 461, less of a torque monster. Because its so much smaller it's much easier to move round and easier in the tree.

Maybe if you have a lot of big felling to do you'd be better just putting a 20" on your 460, that will obviously slog through anything no matter how hard you push.

Stihl ms400 the most underrated saw in the Stihl lineup. I'd have one over the 562xp.

Stihl 462 running 20" light bar frigging awsome

I have the ms462 on a 20”, it’s great. But now I want an ms400 too!

What is it about saws, guns and motorbikes that leads us men to collect models with only a slight difference to the ones we already have? It’s baffling. I mean, I don’t do it with women. Always try something a bit different from the last there!
