For valentines day this year my girlfriend surprised me with a night at the monkey island hotel and then a day at burnham beeches:biggrin:.

What an amazing place!! The trees were amazing. When walking round a place like that it shows just how resiliant trees are!

Here's a few pics anyway:thumbup1:

Oh yeah monkey if you ever need any free labour working in a place like that then give me a shout:001_tongue:

The Beeches are a truly remarkable site.

Would really love to work there full time.

I was over there with Tom Joye a couple of weeks back and bumped into Danavan with his mate Si, doing a spot of contracting.

Did ya notice the desicated Fistulina on the Druids Oak?

Glad ya had a good one, what was the Hotel like, did you eat there?

Cheers Monkey,it was an awesome place to go and see!! The only problem is its made me want to see more of them and i'd love to have the oppertunity one day to work with such wonders of nature! Dont really see many ancient pollards on my local council estates or on mrs Miggins back yard!! haha

The Fistulina was on a Beech stump near the top pond i think?

The hotel was nice and the food and service there was excellent:thumbup1:. Forgot to mention the other surprise my girfriend had for me!!..................she'd asked the owner of the hotel to cover the bed in haribo:biggrin:.
