point to note: youre hanging off it.

how much do you value your life? dont cheap out on it.

There is the idea that you should spend as much as you reasonably can on the things that come between you and the ground... shoes, tires, mattresses, etc.

I suppose climbing ropes could be included in that group.

Presumably all ropes are CE marked as a minimum. It's the same argument for budget tyres Vs Michelin.

They all meet a very basic standard, so expect to get the job done with both but the quality of the materials, how it's put together and feels in the hands are the important factors during use and possibly even how long it'll last.

No rope is going to break unless you cut it, even diy store blue three strand is strong enough to tow a car.

I like a thicker rope, easier on the hands. It’s an orangey colour don’t know it’s name ‘Thor’s Underwear’ or something.

CE marking means nothing. In the world of machinery and electrical stuff, there is LOADS of stuff fraudulently marked.

Read the link i give from the EU muppets.. Does not fill you with confidence..

As for climbing stuff, no idea, but i would stick to well known brands if it were me..

Not that i know anything about this sort of thing, but my choice of rope is stuff called "Marlow Gecko FCR" it seems good to me at least.

SINGLE-MARKET-ECONOMY.EC.EUROPA.EU

The letters ‘CE’ appear on many products traded on the extended Single Market in the European Economic Area (EEA). They signify that products...

Or as Gloria Hunniford’s mother said ‘always buy good shoes and a good bed, because if you’re not in one you’re in the other’
