"i remember when i first started i would ofter have to go and get the line and strop from a pulley up in the skys because the weight of the rope would take it up past me lol"

hahah ive had that one now if im for example 10foot below the pulley my groundy puts a stopper knot in the rigging rope 10 feet from the end, its now always on the same level as me.

the smaller the bit of timber then the smaller diameter limb to lower it off, seems obvious i know but i am sure you guys have lowered small stuff before and it has just dangled, then you have to help it down, if you have a pulley in then this isnt a problem, but on small jobs time is money and installing a pulley takes up time, i have a big lowering kit that rarely gets used, i always have an old climbing line in my main bag for pulling and lowering.

I have always found instalation of a pulley far less time consuming than having to make amends for un controlled/expected friction in the lowering line.
