Towable petrol splitter/service

I'm after a towable splitter. Been looking at the Venom 12 tonne ones for around 1400.

I'm looking to use it for my own stuff but at the same time hopefully earn money from it when I'm not cutting on weekends etc. I've seen a few people on market place offering log splitting services for around 25 per hour although I'm not sure if it is viable?

located Scottish Borders.

It’s viable as a Saturday job for the full time employed at that rate. Not much else though!

Yeah if I were to buy one I'd like to be out at least once or twice a month with it. I'm just wondering if there's much of a market for it, I only cut in the woods so it would be for the likes of fallen trees/logs lying around needing split. I understand tree firms can provide the whole shabang from takedown to processing the logs so that's my only concern is will there be much work for it

It feels like everyone wants to keep the logs from tree work nowadays, some of the people are used to processing firewood but I have a feeling a lot of them aren't. They will find out it's hard work when they try, so could be a market there.

It's not been normal for the tree firm to offer splitting as far as I know, too expensive at tree surgery crew rates.
