The one's I prefer are the 'cordless' ones- ie ones that don't need to be connected to the ht lead for a pulse. Saves hassle having to access the lead, but they are more expensive. My genuine Husky one is my go to.

My back up is the tiny tech, which does need connecting to the ht lead, but is very good, and reasonably priced although the refresh time is a bit slower, than some deared ones.

Here's the tiny tech.

Here's the husky one, which you can use with or without being connect to the ht:

I have used the Tiny Tech TT20k which is the 9v battery workshop model of the version above. It has been perfect over the 9 or so years I have owned it and it works well without wiring it up and never used the clamp that comes with it.

I got one on Amazon for about £20, it comes with a wire which I just make into loose coil and hold near the top of the saw - picks up just fine. Check the rev range, and update rate of 0.5s is worth having but there are quite a few that fit the requirements.
