i find if i have to file the bar every time i sharpen something not right, chain to tight or many other reasons i find changing the ring sprocket when put new chain on saves on the wear on bar,i find with a oregeon bar 2- times a week to file bar when using it every day:001_smile:

i dont NEED to do it everytime i sharpen the chain but i always just give it a quick bash with a flat file while the bars off the saw.

weve had no end of problems with husky bars, with similar probs, not been dropped, always greased, turned, chain tensionsed properly - it seems ot be a husky bar problem - swopped onto oregan bars with renewable tips and there lasting well - if the time arises to replace it just knock the rivet out and fannys your uncle!
