Question

Posted (edited)

Is this oak slowly dying?

Been neglected for years and so has the land it sits on, im slowly clearing all the self set blackthorns and getting rid of the rubbish but this oak is causing a bit of a concern as it looks to be dying and if it is could do with coming down.

We are all dying, some more slowly than others.

Might be worth getting a tree bloke to come and have a closer look for cavities, fungi etc.

Very difficult to assess properly from photos.

Clearly had some major lower limbs removed, that’s the first thing to investigate.

As Mick has said . They die " slowly " from day one .  That could very likely have several years left yet . Maybe take out any dead wood .
