Not very hidden agenda to get more and more state bale outs...

The insulation scheme for cavity walls is pretty much done, it's been running since the 90s and I can't believe there are many uninsulated cavity walls.

Whilst there is an argument for exterior insulation, personally I'd rather sacrifice internal space than an external fire hazard.

Regardless of the levels of insulation, If even Scandinavia are feeling the pinch fuel price wise we are all up a creek so to speak.

I think this is a new (pretty much the same) scheme that also covers loft/internal wall insulation, under floor insulation, pipe lagging, new windows/doors, and the main area ... new gas boilers, radiators, ground/heat pumps and the like.

I agree. No point having the boiler/stove/radiators all done if your house is as open as a slatted barn. In that situation all you're doing is heating the air outside as it passes through.

It'll probably be easier for them to just knock on your door and say get out before they strip, rebuild and give you the keys back in six months time.

Well you do have to wonder realistically how much would I get in all those grants.

I'm guessing there's wouldn't be much change out of 60k if all those things are covered ?. And how much would I have to pay ?.

As far as i know it's means tested and obviously depends on the type, age, state of the building in question, as well as your income/situation. In Scotland, not sure about other areas, you pay nothing. They do a fairly laborious investigation into everything about the property, you need to fill in all kinds of online questionnaires and they they send out surveyors for each of the jobs to be done.

Might be worth doing a bit or research online and seeing what you qualify for.

My arse you pay nothing. 🤣🤣🤣

Maybe if you’re a minimum wage drone?

Well we all pay in a manner of speaking.

Not a drone, just a self employed farming, engineering and firewood type.

It's a bit like the whole smart meter BS they always traipse out saying you can save loads by knowing etc.

I can guarantee you I can't, every appliance is relatively new, LEDs everywhere.

It's a grant. You pay nothing. It's for those on low income or in houses that could benefit from being updated when that's beyond their means. Obviously if you are a worker drone, on a nice ample wage and your property doesn't need it ... then you're meant to buy your own and leave the grants for those that need it. It's not rocket science 🤣

Brilliant, arguing about the cost of living, and handouts on a Friday afternoon. Shouldn't you be at work?

I'm on nights before it's asked.

I am at work 👍
