I need to ask my work to purchase a bigger bar and chain for a Husqvarna 562XPG.  Any advice on if it's best to purchase a 28" over a 24" bar?

Ideally, both bars would be the preferred option, but work have financial issues at the moment.

Many thanks

20" max . 18" is better balanced . get a 70cc or 80cc saw .

Exactly as above. The 562 is a good saw but it will struggle on 24” let alone 28”.
You would need to port / modify it to run that length bar.
I use a 20” on mine. Ok on softwood. Realistically it wants to be on 18” in tough hardwoods.

572 will run a 24 fine. Don’t think I’d want a 28 on that either in standard trim.
