Ive already got a trailed 6" chipper and 4x4 tipper but im thinking of getting a 25hp compact iseki tractor and a 6" pto driven chipper, i know that it wont take 6" happily but it should take 4", i log anything over that anyway.

i would run a flail mower and from time to time and rotovator in the summer as well so i could fit in well. i would want a demo before i buy but what do you guys think? ive been offered it at a really good price.

depends on the type of work you do really. im sure that setup would have its place but if youv already got a chipper. are you going to buy anouther one the same size or are you just going to tow your one with it? also how are you going to get it onto site. ie would you then need 2 trips to get the chipper there too.

if it makes sence to you and its cheap enough that you wont loose on it then buy it

hi,a compact 25hp tractor does not produce 25hp at the pto shaft! ive a 1530 ford and that doesnt like my 6 inch jenson chipper.....neither does my fordson dexta .

As a rough guide, allow a 17% drop in hp from engine to shaft. I've fitted loads of 6" GreenMechs to tractors of 25-45hp. The lower the hp the more often the "No Stress" deivce will cut in and the longer it takes to spin up again.

We run a Kubota L3300 (About 35hp) with a Schliesing ZX200 on the back. Just about spot on with the power - very light on the front end when driving though The tractor is about 1300kg and the chipper 660kg. Don't want to put front end weights on as the combination already weighs in at 2000kg. This is a heavy chipper compared to most that capacity - but then more weight means more steel and strength in the build! Its a fantastic combination - it gets exactly where you want it quickly.
