Utility Arb opportunities North East and Yorkshire

Our teams of Utility Arborists are responsible for maintain a contractual clearance from Northern Powergrid’s electrical network. We also identify trees that pose a hazard to the network due to disease or ill health and implement management plans to reduce the risk. As an individual you will be expected to work in a safe manner conducting aerial and ground-based tree work in accordance with relevant legislation including B.S 3998 2010. Attractive competitive salary depending on experience. What will this role involve? • Practical Arboricultural tasks contributing to an efficient combined voltage programme of tree clearance, within prescribed timescales. • Ensure the safety of yourself, team members and Public on site. • To establish maximum economical tree clearances from all electrical equipment. • Climbing, pruning and site tidy up in line with BS3998 2010 and completion of data records with an educated recut estimation. • Adhere to all relevant legislation pertaining to tree management in relation to power line clearance, including Tree Preservation Orders, Conservation Area restrictions and European Protected Species. • Landowner management including adhering to the agreed access and egress routes, work prescription as detailed on the work pack and maintaining a good communication with landowners when on the work site. • Ensure, through good communication, between Team members, Supervisors, Surveyors and Management. • Completion of daily personal dynamic risk assessment and whereabouts reporting. • Monitor and report to Supervisors, all PPE and equipment requirements including daily vehicle checks. • Extensive travel throughout the North East of England and Yorkshire. (Vehicle provided) • Any additional relevant work deemed necessary by your supervisor What are we looking for? · Ideally a suitable candidate with have a Level 3 qualification in Arboriculture or other relevant land-based subject. · A good level of physical fitness · Confident and capable whilst working at heights · Good working knowledge of Arboricultural machinery · A driving licence for working in different locations and transporting equipment. Category BE is desirable. · An aptitude for working outdoors. · Thorough understanding of the Risk Assessment process. · Ability to read maps. · Good knowledge of tablets, specifically the use of an iPad. · Experience working within Arboricultural and Forestry. You will be able to demonstrate experience of a range of common industry related tasks. · Suitable candidates must be familiar with different forms of machinery associated with modern Arboriculture. Size and Scope The role covers the entire Northeast of England. A successful applicant will be working as part of contract with over 150 direct arborists, surveyors and management. Arborists work in 2, 3 and 4 operatives per gang depending on voltage. Bit shocked by that Teresa ... then saw Amey right at the bottom  [emoji6] K

I'm lost .... where did you see that it said Amey ??? What has that got to do with it any way ??? Have you seen the standard of there work n the north east as in my area it seems pretty good , some of the amey gangs I've seen seem able to produce a good standard of work better than most arbs and look like good hard working crews.
