I know it sounds daft but, are your blades razor sharp and what nick is the anvil in? Is the engine revs dropping fast? - is so, then it could be a fuel issue namely, not enough fuel getting thro at peak demand. When running, are the flywheel bearings getting hot, are they getting tight? Is the engine getting tight/seized?

 

Blades are due for a change but chippa wasnt behaving when newly sharpened blades were fitted, havnt checked flywheel bearings but they are greased on a regular basis, I have a hunch it is fuel related but being a complete non mechanic dont know where to start, thanks for your help. You dont realise how much you need these things until they break! :thumbdown:

ohhh dear ,i had 1,they were fitted with naff soft ware mine went on a regular basis ,set up spot on 2,days later back no chip mode had 3 ,new boxes on it ,is the box still by the wheel ??

Yep still there, ive had problems with the digital box before but have seemed to get by.

If the stress control box is knackered you can get an aftermarket universal one for under £300, dunno how that compares to a new kwik chip control.

 

Hard to tell maximum revs without a tach.

 

Although you can make one out of a bicycle speedometer :thumbup1:
