Can you help to identify this tree?

Hi all, I recently moved to a new home with this (see image) tree in the garden. I’ve been unable to identify it and hoped those with more expertise than I have could confirm. It’s 4ft tall and as you can see the bark and branches are quite distinctive. The leaves are small (2-3cm) and oval shape. No flowers or fruit. Thanks in advance.

Bit of Googling suggests it’s ulmus alata, or winged elm in English.

can’t speak for everyone else on the forum but elm trees are a bit before my time so my ident on different varieties isn’t too hot!
