heres some stonkers from the Dartmoor or rather the river Dart Rhea:001_cool:

I have a sneaky feeling one of my mentors is going to want one of these!

A very interesting historic site, a lime kiln right on the edge (ruins) I suspect that they would drive the boats right under the overhanging trees and pollard them into the boats, making transportation easy. As I am sure also the Lime stone for the kilns would have been transported to site for burns, then shipped out again as finished product. humans are very resourceful at limiting work!:001_cool:

This Ash epitomises the term ultimate survivor. Although it appears to be a moribund monolith the healthy crown top left originates from a limb halfway down the stem. Great tree.:thumbup1:

Going through some photos from last year and found this one which I thought I should share. 8m+ girth with a huge cavity large enough to sit in at around 8ft. ImageUploadedByArbtalk1414946378.144649.jpg.543da1601811b8fe11cf912a6df01afd.jpg
