Some highway work Indian style, had 5 weeks away recently and was lucky enough to stumble accross this! They had a chainsaw to cut the fig up on the ground and to fell the stems. They had done about 40 of them already, nutters!

Way cool. I love India. Best thing to do as a tree surgeon is take the 5 weeks off in december and january, cos there's bugger all happening here.

This is proper health and safety stuff... for India... ropes? cranes? Whatever next.

Cheers for the photos. You have made me really jealous.

Flippin Brilliant Tristan. Love those pics. Really makes me want to go away again.

Reminds me of a tale my mate told me from when he worked in a Brazilian ship yard, where the locals were using saws with 3' bars on them, the chain so loose you could get your arm between it and the bar almost, wearing flip flops and shorts. On pointing out the danger my mate was informed "you cant cut round corners unles you have the chain that loose...."

He he- well spotted. It is a quote from Bladerunner, its what Batty (one of the replicants) says just before he dies. Top film eh?

The best bit of the Brazil story is that my mate said he was a 'bit green' and when he pointed out the danger they laughed at him!
