Digging up Norway spruce

Client wants me to dig up a Norway spruce that he planted in his front garden because he’s moving and wants it replanted in his new garden, it’s not that big, about 10ft, what’s the chances of this being successful?

Not sure if it’s worth the hassle but I said I’d give it a go, how much of the root system would I need to keep intact?

If you can wait till March odds get better, success depends on the size of the root ball, you will need mini loader to lift rootball

keep the soil really tight use plenty of chicken wire and undercut with a steel cable

if you can get your hands on a Newman frame even better

use rachet straps to bind the tree to the ball

stake the tree well in new position using tripod above ground guys water well and instal a water system

Does @Ruskins Trees still post here? @dumper is right it's not just the size of the rootball it's holding it all together so the smaller root hairs don't break.
