Years ago my ole man bagged up all his sawdust (carpentry dust at that, not chainsaw chips), sprinkled in a few drops of 'Dettol' & it was sold as medicated bedding for rabbits, guinea pigs etc through pet shops!!

The digger has got a timber grab on it. Ive been doing logs for a good few years but my old Palax was on its last legs. my old digger (Hymac) was getting past it. My transit wanted to much money spending on it and i use my tractor for contracting. I do nearly 30 bulk bags a day some days (trade) Most of my work is to trade and i cant let them down so i either go balls out or nowt. We will soon make it back.

Just my idea but

I would save those nice tractors for proper work. Buy something 35-80hp for £2000 running a 1000 pto at 540. A cheap bobcat to load an old lorry body to feed the palax. Retailing wood the margin is small to wholesale must be tiny especially if you buy the wood in.

The sucker blower is a single phase standard workshop blower but we made the sawdust bag collector ourselfs in about an hour. It consists of a 5 gallon paint tin a hesian sack and a length of drain pipe with a 90 degree bend and two inertubes. proper boge job but it works a treat :laugh1:Ill take sump pics of it tomorrow.
