Screwfix just gave me a new one in a box when I had my only issue- a failed spot weld.  A season is a year anyhow, so I always reasoned that it doesn't matter much when you buy it. Screwfix were 3 years if you told them you were domestic also. Just send the woman to the trade counter 🤣

I had your problem with blade bosses on the Vikings- that was a major gripe. Realistically however, they still work just fine if you tighten the nut up with an impact gun- that's all we've ever done on any pedestrian mower with the blade boss pins sheared, and never had any issues. I never changed a boss on either of my two mountfields.

If shear clean up between blade and hub then something like an oil based paint/(old) Hermatite/Even Polyurethane stuff like Tiger seal/gorilla etc couple of blobs tighten bolt then ok but most mowers don't have pins!

As someone who likes to sharpen their blades regularly (shock, horror!) I found suitable torque on the nut to be sufficient.

Of course, there is the argument that the blade boss pins are there to prevent damage to the engine should you twat a stump, and therefore the nut shouldn't be too tight. But I never had any problems running just on nut torque.

Anyway, the only rotary mowing I do now is with a John Deere ride on or a Kubota compact with midmount and collector 🤣

Yes the amount/types of was on about is just enough to provide a grip but not bonded together
