It's a yd25 engine . Let hope it's not what you said it was!

Blew the front off one on my last Ford Ranger. Loud bang, loss of power, rattle, whistle.......

 

Had the indignity of dealing with the AA. I said that unless someone had a new intercooler in the van, do not send one as it cannot be fixed by any other method. Hour later, van turns up! 5 hours later, truck turns up, takes me from Scotch Corner to Tamworth.  Another long wait for another truck, that gets me to the GreenMech factory but cannot unload as tacho break has to be taken! 12+ hours lost to the breakdown!

That's brutal! Mate of mine got caught out with that AA relay thing took him 12 hours to get 80 odd miles 🤢

Every breakdown that I've had has involved a ludicrous AA response! I had oil pump failure, again, the van came to hear the engine knock, and called for a truck. One came 3 hours later and took me to the services which was 4 miles away and left me there for 6 hours! Broke down at 11:30, got home at 02:30!

I've never had to use the breakdown cover. Even blown an injector/engine, collapsed a spring, had a blowout on the M5, lost the clutch, alternator died, starter motor went etc always been able to get out of Dodge. I'm with startrescue and it always scares me how good they will be 😂
