Think you might’ve heard me grumble about that too Andy, I’m sure someone on here explained the internal structure of the cells or something. Either way it does hammer the blades.

Two blades dull in under 30 minutes. In the same batch of sharpened blades I’ve managed half a day milling Larch these last few days.

Maybe Leslie knows his limitations and had to Jack in his Bandsaw for a far more forgiving fence post maker?

Don't ya just hate it when a plan doesn't come off.

Its very frustrating. Gave the lad a big discount to mill them at my place. Got a whole days worth of logs loaded onto the deck and the very first one (the butt) was not playing the game. He'll just have to come get them again.

Yeah, it pisses me off when I've got it planed in my mind and it all goes pear shaped on the day. We all have those days though, keeping them to a minimum is the secret.

Been digging fence post holes as and when time allows .Front of the house a cake walk, ground as soft and stone free as a babys first poo. Down the side of the Driveway and there is a layer of compacted stones 4" down all the way down the drive topped by a layer of tarmac. Every hole has seen me levering the stones out with a bar. Getting there though.

My mill is perfectly set up and my bands are perfectly sharpened and set. I’ve not asked for any help other than IDing the log.

I’ve not gone wrong anywhere. All is in hand. :)

Thanks for your concern though Leslie, now you pop along and play with your down-grade fence post maker. (Times must be tough)

I’ve milled plenty DF. I’m not convinced it’s DF either. Never had DF wrack bands so fast.

Just as well you’re using an idiot proof fence post maker. Much more forgiving than a Bandsaw. Suits you down to the ground and on the slooooow long cuts you can join the window licking queue.
