Yes I’ve used them along side leaf springs, let down and it rides like it should and you can pump them up till it rides just the same when you “happen” to be over loaded. I found them much better than extra springs. You can also pump one side up more than he other to level a uneven load.

I’ve not got that truck any more as I came to the conclusion all 3.5t trucks are a waste of time!

On the other hand, hundreds of 3500kg vans are driven around overloaded every day by idiots who don't care. They speed, they drive recklessly, they go on their phone and don't pay attention. 

 

The least I can do is ensure the van can handle it, check my tyres and pressures, watch my speed, leave lots of room and pay attention. 

In the case of a crash not being your fault, once the copper thinks you are over weight and puts it on the weigh bridge it will be your fault for not being safe on the road and your insurance will laugh at you leaving you high and dry.

Oh no, I'm just on about the "moral" side of it. Yea I completely agree about the legal side.
