Bad Bluetongue?

I recently bought a Yale Bluetongue 11.7 but I've noticed after first use with a ZZ1 that it doesn't stay round. It flattens through the zz and through the rings of the cambuim saver and stays flat under load.

I've read other posts praising the bluetongue for use with a zigzag so is this a case of a bad batch? Should I send it back?

Thanks for your thoughts.

I got a Bluetongue rope a while back and noticed the same, flattens out at the cambium rings. Was quite strange at first, especially when close to the anchor it's really noticeable in your hand. Didn't think of it being faulty, assumed it was just different from what I'm used to.

Use it with the newer version ZZ and it works well.

Ps, what are you doing still using a zz1?

I tend to just use it with a short rope for shaping over smaller trees. It's seen a lot of use and seems fine so doesnt bother me too much.

I've also noticed when you pinch it, it lies very flat compared to other ropes. I'm thinking I might return it now.

Yale bluetongue is a great rope. It does sound like you might have a faulty one. Never experienced this with a zigzag

Me either

And probably because it does just the same as a zz2 [emoji38]

You’re aware there was a safety recall on it right?
