Does anyone have experience of doing the one day Lantra tree inspection course?

I am thinking it might be a bit too basic and might not learn much new, having done tree work on and off for 25+ years.

The professional 3 day course states it is for experienced tree inspectors- so why would you do this course if you are an experienced surveyor/inspector..?

I did it a little over a year ago as it was a requirement for a contract(that I never ended up even doing). Yes it is very basic and with 25 years experience in tree work i'm fairly confident you will learn absolutely nothing. it is more aimed at people who might work on country estates etc and can spot potential problems which can then be referred onto an actual tree surveyor.

If you know yr trees and can write well, go fr the Lantra, PTI,  i enjoyed it with Guy Watson, you get the guidance and legal stuff you need. Money well spent. K

..because it's increasingly becoming the bench-mark for detailed tree inspections by the competent person and hence demonstrates such. Many job ads / contracts / insurers increasingly reference PTI as a requirement. It's a great CPD opportunity too.

Kingswood Training in Kent run the LANTRA one day Basic Tree Inspection course for the novices doing the 8 week course, CS30/31/38/39.

It is really useful to them at that level, but with the level of experience you have @richyrich,you will learn zilch.
