Just wondered if anybody on here have stored birch in ibc containers and left outside to season? If so have you experienced mould or rot? [emoji106]

Depends how wet your local climate is but would be not be that good here ( gales and  sideways rain half the yr ) but might be ok-ish where you are.

It's absolutely fine where I am in East Anglia, split into IBCs uncovered. It can rot if left in the bark as it's oily and waterproof but split open it drys nice and quick. Once dry won't rot, at least round here. Great firewood to me.

Then the bark falls off and I use that for firelighters, much better than paper.

You'll have absolutely no problems with that lot. It will dry perfectly well ready for the Autumn.

In fact I wouldn't even cover it until late summer.
