Thinking of buying a back up 555, looked at one website Lawnmowers directand either there is a MK2 available now that I wasn't aware of or the image is a 545 Mk2 - I can't see the model number clearly on the site so can someone confirm is there now a MK2, or not?

I’ve been giving my old faithful 555 a run out today. Normally my Mk2 550 does everything but thought I’d give the old girl a day in the woods. Had it 4-5 years, never missed a beat 💪🏼

I have both the 560 and 555, and prefer the latter. Smoother torquey power delivery, less screaming revs

There is no mark 11, it has been updated a little as per the mods on the 560, there is nothing to stop you putting the 555 firmware onto the 560, I did do it once, the idle seemed much stronger, and the revs were lower.

Confusingly, the 2020 model does look completely different from the previous - if that's not a MK2 its certainly improved. Check Oakley's garden machinery for that saw, you'll see its the same saw body design with partial metal casing (as opposed to all plastic as before) as the newer 545. There are a few other companies that stock it too.

I guess MK2 refers only to engine changes.
