Looking at getting a stump grinder about the 5k mark. Currently having to turn away stumps which in turn has lost me tree work. Thinking of going for the predator 360, would this take out large stumps? Or am i better going for something more expensive. Thanks

A small grinder will do a large stump but it takes longer and is harder work.

If you can afford to get the 460 with the turn table, far easier on your body. All the predator kit is well built with very good back up.

On the down side If you will be looking at a lot of narrow access the 460 can be a inch or 2 to wide for some gates but 2 people can tip it up and through.

You will never say I wish I had less hp on a grinder.

Got a 360 about 6/7 years ago and been a brilliant bit of kit that has earned its price several times over. Only weak points are the brake arrangement which is very poor - get some spare cables as you will need them, and the exhaust shook itself to bits a couple of times.

looking to upgrade but not yet sure what to

Personally I think the turntable on the 360 makes it the best of the 13hp grinders to use. I'd have to say it depends what stumps you are doing but small trees, leylandii stumps etc it is fine and will always get in to the garden. The folding handle also can help if there are corners.

On bigger stumps either hire or sub out to a stump specialist, you need a lot more than 5k to make easy work of these. Customer doesn't care how you get it done in the end.
