making me think?

I will be saying that in a couple of months... (will have no experience, got to start somewhere?)

But will have cs 30 and 32, pickup truck, all ppe, ms260 , polepruner and maybe a bigger saw etc.

will it make a difference to people looking for a groundy or will you all be thinking "All the gear no idea!)

is a groundy with lots of kit better to employ than one without or are you looking for experience above all else?

Id say if he has his own kit he will look after it better than if it belonged to his employer , but i may be wrong

I look for willingness to work hard and skill experianced guys are cheaper and know what there doing. Had a few qualifed guys fresh and was not worth a tommy tank.

Some are qualified to do the job but cant some are not qualified but know what there doing.

Must work for some companys build up your skill then do your course not the other way round.

Hi Everyone,

I'm a self employed (mainly) groundie looking for work in the Ipswich/Suffolk area. I have CS30 & 31; & my own saw (MS260).

I've got good experience and am often available at short notice.

Hope to hear from some of you.

-Dave

Have you got a clean'ish licence?

Hi Pilgrim, and welcome to the forum, always nice to see another local face in here.

Stihlwatersrundeep: I (as a groundie) find it handy to have all my own kit, as I prefer to be familiar with the kit. Nothing worse than turning up at a company, grabbing kit for a job, and finding its sub-standard. But then I personally feel that if you sub in a climber he should have the kit to do his job, and likewise, so should the groundie. Experience will come with time, cant run before you can walk etc, but with your attitude I'm sure you'll do fine.

qualifications are more important than kit imo we can supply kit but not qualifications but your own ppe is a good bonus
